GUIDANCE PROGRAM

 

 

The Guidance Department carries on a variety of activities, all designed to help the student develop his/her maximum potential both academically and personally. These activities begin for the junior high school student with freshman registration. During the high school years, the Guidance Department will initiate and direct other programs designed to provide information to the student about himself/herself and his/her present situation and future plans; and to provide counsel and understanding in helping the student to achieve self-direction and effectiveness of his/her efforts.

 

Student personnel services include:

 

1.

Administration and interpretation of standardized tests.

 

2.

Consultation with students in academic and/or personal experiences.

 

3.

Consultation with parents and faculty in student personnel matters especially related to academic achievement.

 

4.

Provision of information for the college bound student; requirements for admission, courses offered, and financial aid available.

 

5.

Cooperation with area vocational schools in placing students in the vocational schools.

 

6.

Cooperation with various state agencies to meet special needs of students.

 

7.

Follow-up studies of graduates.

 

Any student may take advantage of the services offered by making an appointment with the guidance secretary to see a counselor.
